What makes a good pitch

Tell us the subject, the question your piece will answer and why it suits Local Culture Guide. A strong idea has a clear focus, can be explained for general readers and leaves room for local variation. Suggest the form you have in mind, such as an explainer, comparison, history piece or occasion-led guide.

Care with cultural detail

Show how you would handle names, context and differing accounts. We value precise language and a considerate approach to traditions, especially where a practice is personal, community-specific or easily reduced to a stereotype.

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Include a short summary and any relevant writing experience or samples you wish to share. A pitch is not a guarantee of publication; please do not send a complete unpublished manuscript unless requested.
